John 15:12-13
"This is my commandment: love one another as I love you.
No one has greater love than this,
to lay down one's life for one's friends.
We hear this verse from time to time and it gives us some good feelings. However, I don't think we understand what it is asking. To love others as God has loved us...this is nothing to be taken lightly. We all mess up but one constant thing is God's love for us and his furious longing for us to return to him. We as Christians have the gift to love others as God has loved them. When we see those among us who are hurt, angry and desperate for love we can be Christ's body to them...to bless them and hold them as God would. Christ has no body now but yours.
