"You are not far from the kingdom of God."
"You are not far from the kingdom of God." One reads this and it comes to mind when we are trying to accomplish something, be it a goal, solving a mathematical problem, a game of scrabble, or anything that requires completion. We get so pleased just thinking that we are not far from getting it done. Do we, in a certain moment of our lives, think of how one is doing spiritually, how is one's relationship with Jesus is going? Do we take time to think that as a true Catholic, are we not far from the kingdom of God? Are we not clear in our priorities? An example is paying much attention to the rituals for it is so much easier to practice the religious actions than to commit to them. In our condition as sinners we might not always love God completely. Love for my neighbor is not always complete for we sometimes judge others or give way to resentments, but we understand the two most important commandments and for understanding them we are not far the kingdom of God. How do we practice them? What are our actions?
