As a very young girl, I had a different concept of other nations. Their differences to me were merely noted by the race of its people, the language they spoke, and their marked and specific borders that geographically established the country's location. I did not have the concept of being one human family and because of that, I could not see beyond what I thought were their differences. My family was near me, that was my nation and we lived in happiness. As an adult, I know that we are a human family, my nation is a lot bigger, the entire world. As we find our way through this creation, a world that is full of harsh realities, we tend to concentrate on what makes us different instead of what makes us human. We search for miracles, but when will it be enough? We don't see the real signs of the blessings within us.
In today's Gospel, Jesus reminded the Pharisees that the Lord is the maker of the outside and the inside, and that to me is what makes us one in Him. A love that keeps us under one sun, from dawn to sunset, under one Lord, no matter where we are in the world and how we call His name. All different in races, languages, experiences, faith, and still, all loved by one merciful God, never alone. A God that keeps us from falling apart.
Can we see the blessings that each of us are? To see a Lord that loves us forever as his one creation?
Lord helps us see that we are one, and proclaim your glory forever! Amen!
¡Mi nación es mucho más grande!
¡Insensatos! ¿Acaso el que hizo lo exterior no hizo también lo interior? Den más bien limosna de lo que tienen y todo lo de ustedes quedará limpio". Lucas 11, 40-41
Cuando era niña tenía un concepto diferente de otras naciones. Sus diferencias para mí eran simplemente notadas por la raza de su gente, el idioma que hablaban y por sus fronteras marcadas que establecían geográficamente la ubicación del país. No tenía el concepto de que en realidad somos una familia humana y, por ello, no podía ver más allá de lo que pensaba que eran sus diferencias como nación. Mi familia estaba cerca de mí, esa era mi nación y vivíamos felices. Como adulto, aprendí que somos una familia humana, mi nación es mucho más grande, es el mundo entero. A medida que encontramos nuestro camino a través de esta creación y un mundo que está lleno de duras realidades, parece que nos concentramos en lo que nos hace diferentes en lugar de lo que nos hace humanos. Vivimos en busca de milagros, pero ¿cuándo será suficiente? No vemos las señales reales de bendiciones dentro de nosotros mismos. En el evangelio de hoy, Jesús les recordó a los fariseos que el Señor es el que los creo por fuera y por dentro, y eso para mí es lo que nos hace uno en Él. Un amor que nos mantiene bajo un sol, desde el amanecer hasta el atardecer; bajo un Señor, sin importar en qué parte del mundo estemos y cómo llamemos Su nombre. Todos diferentes en razas, idiomas, experiencias, fe, y aún así, todos amados por un Dios misericordioso, nunca solos. Un Dios que evita que nos desmoronemos.
¿Podemos ver sin ver las bendiciones que somos cada uno de nosotros? ¿Ver a un Señor que nos ama para siempre como su única creación?
¡Señor ayúdanos a ver que somos uno y a proclamar tu gloria para siempre! ¡Amén!
