And all day long, both at the temple and in their homes, they did not stop teaching and proclaiming the Christ, Jesus.
Have you ever seen a movie or program that so moved you that you had to tell someone? I know I have. Back in the day, we would use the phone, tell people in person or even write it in a letter. Today we use facebook, twitter, Instagram, etc. But it still conveys the excitement and passion you feel.
Today's reading from Acts finds the apostles being flogged for preaching, yet they were so excited, so passionate that they were compelled to continue to preach regardless of the consequences they would face. In fact, they welcomed the persecution, because they knew that Jesus was Lord and that God would welcome them at their death if they followed Jesus's instructions. There are times in our daily walk where we might be reticent to share the faith, to maybe not have the boldness we should to stand for our principles or what we believe. This might be due to pressures from home, work, friends, strangers. Today there's more persecution than ever when we share an opinion. But as Christians we are compelled to speak the truth for whatever the cause. Remember the truth will set you free.
