Physical Education Class (P.E.) was my favorite class in elementary school. I still remember the balled-up energy I had coursing through my veins as I was awaiting the school's bell to ring for class to start. From fun games like dodgeball, to not so fun things like the PACER test, I always found myself at the end of class looking for my pulse on my neck or wrist. I was always so fascinated in discovering the beat of my heart.
Today we celebrate the Solemnity of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, and to put it simply what we celebrate today is love – true love that is. A most intimate love that is so immense that God gave His only begotten Son to die for you and me. A love so pure and selfless, that it desires only the good of the other. That's what we are called to. That's what we are made for.
Jesus had a human heart like you and me, a heart that beats as fast as yours or mine. I pray that our hearts may beat along with the heart of Jesus this day, so we may love more perfectly.
How can I love the people I encounter this day?
May our hearts beat along with the heart of Jesus so that we may love more perfectly.

Andrew Zsebedics is going into his third year of college seminary. He was born in Maryland and moved to Tampa in 2014 where he now loves the sunny life of the sunshine state. His home parish is St. Lawrence in Tampa. He loves being active including weightlifting, playing basketball, longboarding, or simply by being in nature.
