Lost and Alone

By Deacon Drew Woodke
You're just looking for a sense of direction about where God is...

Luke 15:4

"What man among you having a hundred sheep and losing one of them would not leave the ninety-nine in the desert and go after the lost one until he finds it?"

What must it have felt like for one lost sheep in the desert? With no food, no water, no protection. Lost and alone. There are times in our own lives that we may feel lost. Maybe you're in between jobs, or relationships. Maybe the relationship with your spouse or loved ones has lost its excitement. Maybe you feel like your prayer life has dried up, and you're just looking for a sense of direction about where God is. The reality is, even though we feel alone and confused during these times, God is there searching for us waiting to welcome us back! Like the shepherd, he is constantly pursuing our hearts! He wants to be in relationship with us, he wants to bring us back into the fold. If you're feeling lost and alone. Don't be afraid to call out to the Lord, and let him rejoice with you because you have been found.

Did you know...

I like cold weather. I grew up in the wrong state, but I love this diocese too much to ever consider leaving it.

Pray with us for the men and women discerning the priesthood and religious life. To pray for our seminarians by name or to find out more about the Diocese of St. Petersburg vocations office, click here.
