I remember a good many years ago while in high school or early college, I was in a conversation with some friends. We were talking about staying out late Saturday night and coming home late Sunday morning. I spoke up and said I couldn't. They said, "why not?" "I have church tomorrow," I said. "What? Really?" "Yes," I said, although a bit sheepishly and almost embarrassingly.
I had the opportunity to invite them to church, but did I? No. I was feeling pressures I couldn't explain at the time. Now I do. When we are truly living a life in Christ, it's easy to live in love and self-control. But the problem is, we sometimes drift. We go down paths that we shouldn't. We have to always hold love in our hearts (and show that love), even when we disagree with co-workers, loved ones, or even opponents. We also have to have self-control in all we do. Pray today for the God's grace to come in our lives to give us that love and self-control.
