When I was a junior in high school, my mom got me a journal that contained a quote of Jesus from the Gospels at the top of every journal page. Through some miracle, I started using this journal to pray every morning before school… little did I know the effect this habit would have on my life! Up until that point, I had not had much of a personal prayer life, but once I got started, I could not get enough of it! Many years later, I am still praying every day and I can honestly say that prayer has helped me to overcome obstacles and to be on fire with the Holy Spirit. When I bind myself to Christ, He gives me “the sword of the Spirit” and the armor of God so I can defeat the giants that stand in the way of my relationship with Him and the path He has set me on.
Do I have alone time with Jesus every day?
Father, help your sons and daughters to be set on fire with your Spirit through encountering You and Your Son in daily prayer!
