I Came to Save Everyone!

By Israel A Hernandez
The Spirit did what He always does...

1 Timothy 2:1-2

"First of all, then, I ask that supplications, prayers, petitions, and thanksgivings be offered for everyone, for kings and for all in authority, that we may lead a quiet and tranquil life in all devotion and dignity."

As I reflected on this passage, the Spirit did what He always does. He reminded me of those who I have the privilege of serving this year. Those who we all tend to judge for their actions and whom we often forget about. I'm guilty of this! As I begin my ministry with those kids who are in the juvenile detention center and those who are incarcerated, I hear the Father reminding me, "I came to save everyone!"

Jesus' sacrifice on the cross was not just for those of us who think we are good. He died 'for everyone'. For every one of us is a sinner. Yes, some may sin more than others, but that does not change this magnificent sacrifice to save everyone. The people whom I have the privilege of serving this year are exactly the people we all should be praying for. Why? To reveal the truth of Jesus' sacrifice, which was done out of love for them! The thing is, Jesus left each and everyone of us this simple, yet not so easy, mission. Let's take this mission given to us seriously and offer supplications, prayers, petitions, and thanksgivings for everyone.
