God's Grace

By Fr. Izzie Hernandez
According to the Catechism of the Catholic Church...

"But grace was given to each of us."     Ephesians 4:7

According to the Catechism of the Catholic Church, "grace is favor, the free and undeserved help that God gives us." This grace, "was given to each of us." But what for? To help us get through the difficult workday, the tough exams, or the person in front of us who is getting under our skin. If you desire patience, ask for the grace to be more patient. Don't be afraid to ask for more grace. It is free after all. But, in order to receive more grace, we need to keep an open mind. Let go of how you want something to play out. The grace you ask for will be more than enough.

How do we know we received grace? Well, the only way to know, is to reflect on our day. Through prayer, which makes us aware, we begin to learn to recognize God at work in our lives. Now that you know that grace has been given to you freely, what will you do with it? Will you keep it for yourself or give it to others? Although grace helps us, it is also something to be given to others. Sharing is caring after all!

What kind of grace do you need, right now? What kind of grace can you share with others?

Almighty, ever-living God, we thank you for giving us the grace we need each and every day of our lives.
