Ezekiel 18:21
But if the wicked man turns away from all the sins he has committed, if he keeps all my statutes and does what is just and right, he shall surely live. He shall not die!
Lent is a time of introspection. Even Jesus had to take some time to listen to the Father and pray. We should take this time to really look at our lives and take the opportunity to repent and start over. Water is used as the sacrament of Baptism in the church of washing away the sins in our lives. This water of baptism flows at Easter. So during the remaining days of Lent let us reflect on the words of God given to Ezekiel, reminding us of hope. He says that regardless of all the filth of our sins in our life, if we just turn away from our sins repent (which means show remorse and resolve to "clean up our act") and believe in the Gospel, then we'll receive our eternal reward. Despite all our sins, even the most heinous, there is still hope if we change our ways. We have time to wash away these sins through baptism and through reconciliation. God gives us a second chance to change our ways. In fact he gives us many chances, even until the very end of our lives. Do we do the same for others? Thats just one of the countless reasons why our God is an awesome God. But don't wait until the end. This lent is a time to change your ways....Will you change?
