Get Ready!

By Martina Ver Pault
Growing up my mom used to say, "Treat every day as though it is your last."  She was a loving and saintly mom...

"Therefore, stay awake, for you know neither the day nor the hour."

Matthew 25:13

Growing up my mom used to say, "Treat every day as though it is your last."  She was a loving and saintly mom.  She prayed for her children every day, even on her death bed. God did bless her to see the conversion of many of her fourteen children. St. Monica is a perfect example of living each day as though it were her last.  She feared for her son's spiritual and eternal life.  She spent 17 years praying for her son and was blessed to see the miraculous answer to her prayers in the conversion of her son, St. Augustine. All loving parents want their children to go to heaven.  Our loving Father wants nothing more than for us, His children, to choose to be in heaven with Him forever.  But it's our choice.  The Lord has warned us repeatedly in His Holy Word, the bible, to prepare for our last day.  He has called us to forgive, to leave our gift at the altar if someone has something against you; even warned us how to recognize Him in the poor, the sick, and needy and what happens if we don't respond°  Spoiler alert, it's not a good outcome.

What if your life was demanded of you today?

St Monica, pray for us to Courageously Live the Gospel and live each day as though it were our last.
