John 15:9-11
As the Father loves me, so I also love you. Remain in my love.
If you keep my commandments, you will remain in my love, just as I have kept my Father's commandments and remain in his love.
"I have told you this so that my joy may be in you and your joy may be complete.
Love is sometimes a difficult thing to explain. Some people express it in feelings, others try to define it with words, and still others use their actions to show their love for others. However, many great philosophers and theologians have pondered what it means to be loved by the ultimate lover (God). In today's Gospel, Jesus gives us a simple formula for receiving God's love, "If you keep my commandments, you will remain in my love." That's it. No long list of requirements or plan for salvation, just a simple phrase. God wants to love us, so he makes things simple for us. 'Listen to me and I will love you.' If you haven't started yet, today is your day to pick up your Bible and start reading the Word of God daily. If you want His love in your life, follow what He says and you will know just how much He loves you.
