Enrollment Is Open

By Vivi Iglesias
Are you a parent who is in constant search for activities or stuff to do...

"Alleluia. They shall note, when the peoples are enrolled: 'This man was born there.' And all shall sing, in their festive dance: 'My home is within you. All your nations praise the Lord. " Psalm 87:1b-3, 4-5, 6-7

Are you a parent who is in constant search for activities or stuff to do? Always keeping your attention for that one announcement when enrollment for those activities is open? Are we looking for something that will potentially enhance our children's intellectual and physical lives making us feel as if they are well cared for?

I was one of those parents. I kept looking for things to do, respected schools to attend, and participating in as many extracurricular activities as possible. I went from soccer practices, and dance squad trainings, usually on the opposite ends of town, to rush back home for late night suppers and homework. I wanted to help them as they developed interests outside their school learning. I lived by an insane schedule!

The life of a parent, a teacher, even the entire community, is committed to ensure these learning experiences. But we must ask ourselves, are we also safeguarding our commitment to develop a fruitful faith life? This is where the love of God manifests in all of us! We are all invited to encounter God and to search for that one ability that finds us in God's grace. The Son of God is where everything starts and ends, enrollment is always open

Are you signed up to proclaim His love and compassion?

Lord, may we continue to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ in the business of our lives. Your promise of salvation and the promise of Your Kingdom is within our reach! Amen!
