As for you, your sins are forgiven
Luke 5:20
The Lord, being a good Father, desires our good health. He does not want us to suffer. “He Himself will lift the yoke of our captivity,” that is, if we seek and allow Him to, no matter what it is. As in today’s Gospel, there is a paralyzed man who desired good health, who desired healing. So much so that he had his friends carry him to the roof and lower him down to where Jesus was teaching. His effort and desire were immediately seen by Jesus and He forgave him, “your sins are forgiven.” The paralyzed man's physical healing started with the desire to be healed and was followed by the forgiveness of his sins. If that is so for him, how much more should you and I seek the Lord's healing, from sin, within the sacrament of reconciliation?
What is keeping you from the wonderful sacrament of reconciliation?
Lord Jesus Christ, grow my desire to be healed and made whole by You!
