Living the will of God and following his commands is difficult. We want to do things our way, on our time. We want to be in control, in charge; we want to set the schedule and agenda. We do it mostly for ourselves…our personal wants and desires. Conflict can arise when your agenda or ideas are not in line with others. This can happened at work or at home. It can happen in ministry too. This is why it's important to put God in front of all of our decisions. The gospel today finds two believers who want to follow Jesus, but they say they have to take care of some personal business first. Jesus reminds them other things will take care of themselves but that we need to be obedient to God when he calls, even on important matters. One day God will call us home to our eternal reward. We know neither the time nor the hour. When we think about this, we often think, "I need to take care of some things first." Life just doesn't always work that way. Have the courage to face challenges today that might be holding you back from something in your home or business. When you do you'll be an example of one courageously living the Gospel.
