Compassion of Jesus

By Madison Marsh
In the Gospel reading, we read about how Jesus went out to encounter many people in different towns and villages...

"At the sight of the crowds, his heart was moved with pity for them because they were troubled and abandoned, like sheep without a shepherd." Matthew 9:36

In the Gospel reading, we read about how Jesus went out to encounter many people in different towns and villages, so they would all be able to know Christ. Jesus went out to serve those who needed His help and as he served, He had compassion. A deep compassion sparked Him to tell everyone to pray to the Lord for His timely help.

Recently, I had just come back from volunteering on Project Team with the Good Samaritan Project, and the same compassion Jesus encountered many people with is the same compassion the Lord wants us to serve with. While serving, I prayed that the Lord would be able to use my actions to glorify Him, so all the people I would interact with would be able to see Christ.

I pray that we would ask the Lord for a compassionate heart when we go out to serve in the little ways, so Christ can be known to all.
