"The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me"

We just celebrated Christmas & Epiphany--today the Son grown, begins His mission.
Jesus grew just like us all. As was His custom, Jesus worshiped with others from childhood. He knew the Scriptures & saw Himself in them. They were the way He knew the Way of God for His life: to bring glad tidings, liberty, give insight, freedom...
In today's Gospel Jesus says, "The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me" He knew He was chosen to preach the Good News to the poor, give sight to the blind & freedom to captives. He was a servant/leader, like the one mentioned in the Responsorial Ps. 72.
Since our Baptism, the Spirit of God is also upon each of us; we are chosen to proclaim the
Good News, in our words & more so even in our actions.
If we love God, we must love others; that is the proof we love God (truly we can't have 1 without the other) We love because God first loved us. Take time daily to read/ponder the Scriptures --put them into practice & become more like Jesus, Good News to others, as we show & tell God's love--enriching others, freeing them from fear/violence...Helping others know God--which is much more than knowing about God.

Jesus, may I grow & become more like you, a servant leader wherever I am--at home, work, at Church... helping others encounter God & be free to respond. Amen.
