Our qualification comes from God who has indeed qualified us as ministers of a new covenant, not of letter but of spirit. 2 Corinthians 3:5-6
Today's readings have to do with the letter of the law and the spirit of the law. We often find the commandments and even secular laws and rules as things we can't do. We sometimes feel our freedoms compromised and restrictive. However, God gave commandments to Moses who gave them to us. Jesus also teaches a commandment to love God and to love one another. Instead of looking at rules as being restrictive, we should look at all of the things in life that we CAN do without breaking rules. God wants to protect us from harm and gives us rules to live by. When we break those rules, God isn't punishing us; instead we are doing ourselves harm. We point the finger at others and often blame God. It's often our own doing that we bring spiritual or emotional harm to ourselves and others. If we stay on the right path, the narrow road, life's journey will go much better.
What can I change in my life to remain on the path of righteousness?
Lord help me to be guided by the Holy Spirit in all of my decisions!
