Bring Our Hunger to Him

By Fr. Chuck Dornquast
I'm led to believe that we must be so cautious...

Luke 6:21

"Blessed are you who are now hungry, for you will be satisfied."

Apple Turnover or Apple. I'm led to believe that we must be so cautious with that which fills us. There is certainly plethora of food which we can use to satisfy our physical feelings of hunger. We can constantly choose food which is fast, convenient and tasty or food which requires more--more time, energy and/or money. Yet our bodies makes clear the food it was made to receive.

As this holds true for the body, so also our souls. Many sources claim to be able to sate our hunger for love, life, intimacy, relationship, justice, truth, beauty. Every day there seems to be a new product, theory, self-help resource, app or video promising to satisfy our deepest desires. Yet Jesus calls us to bring our hunger to Him--to not seek satisfaction for our deepest hungers in the world around us. Today, offer your hunger to Jesus. Offer Him your hunger for Love, Eternal Life and Intimacy.

Did you know...

One of my chores growing up was filling in the holes that our 3 dobermans would dig in the backyard.
