1 John 4:12
Yet, if we love one another, God remains in us, and his love is brought to perfection in us.
Being perfected
I wonder how much time I will spend today frustrated at all the ways that I am not as loving as I'd like to be. I wish I could love with the patience, intensity, fidelity that I desire to. Or how much time do I spend rationalizing my paltry efforts at loving and say, "Meh, that's enough...that's what they deserve...what do they expect of me...?" How often do we ourselves set the standard of Love? "Yet, if we love one another, God remains in us, and his love is brought to perfection in us." May you and I today either rejoice in our need to be perfected and our God's desire to bring his love to perfection in us; or recognize that our love is always able to be perfected.
