At My Level

By John Morris
How do you reflect your Christian walk on a daily basis?

Acts 3:19

Repent, therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be wiped away.

In today's reading from Acts, we read about how Peter and John healed a crippled man and began to teach in the name of Jesus. Let's look at what has transpired. The people were for Jesus (Palm Sunday) then against him (Good Friday). Sunday comes and they can't find him. He shows up later in the upper room, along a road and on the shore. All of these unbelievable events happen and the disciples realize that all of the prophetic words were true. Now they are emboldened to act. Think about the swing in their approach. One week they were running from the fact that they knew Jesus, now they are testifying in his name….from fear to boldness. Isn't that how we are sometimes? You might be in a group and the topic of religion comes up. Do you jump in head first or tread lightly? How do you preach or tell others about your daily walk? We are called to imitate the life of Christ; we don't beat people over the head but meet them where they are, like Jesus did. Through stories, parables, comparisons, we should make it relatable to the listener or audience. When the opportunity arises for you to evangelize, say a short prayer and jump in and meet your friends where they are!
