Asking for Help

By Francesca
I really dislike asking for help. In most areas of life: work, school, recreation..

"...receive mercy and to find grace for timely help" Hebrews 4:16

I really dislike asking for help. In most areas of life: work, school, recreation... I'd rather take my time and figure it out the hard way than ask for help. Part of growing up for me was realizing that sometimes, you (or more accurately, I) need to ask for help from someone who 1. Has experience, and 2. Is someone you can trust.

Our second reading today tells us about Christ who, while never knowing sin, still experienced the same temptation that we face every single day. Not only does He know what is on your heart, but He also knows the struggles that you're facing because He’s done it too. He has the experience.

Asking for help won’t do you much good if you don’t trust His response. The Lord will respond. He, as our second reading says, is willing to provide “timely help.” Now comes the real question… do you trust Him?

Do you ask the Lord for guidance when you need help?

Jesus, thank you for being our Savior and our friend. Help us to trust you more fully and learn to ask for help when we need it.
