All Things In Gratitude

By Fr. Chuck Dornquast
She admits to lacking nothing...

And Mary said: “My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord; my spirit rejoices in God my savior. For he has looked upon his handmaid’s lowliness; behold, from now on will all ages call me blessed. The Mighty One has done great things for me, and holy is his name.

Luke 1:46-49

She admits to lacking nothing. Although in a situation of duress and difficulty she believed herself beloved. Although incredibly inconvenienced and imperfectly perceived she declared herself doted upon. What a remarkable thing a disposition of gratitude is. Although many in this Christmas season might be experiencing obstacles, may we opt to imitate Mary in recognizing all that has been given to us. In a few short days, we will celebrate the Incarnate preference of our God for us. That while we are sinners, He has chosen to make His abode with us. Truly the Mighty One does great things for us.

Where has the Lord demonstrated His favor to me this advent season?

Father, thank you for the remarkable ways you have blessed my life.
