AND NOW WHAT

By Vivi Iglesias
Do you love plants? I do. They are so vibrant, and some have beautiful smells...

"He who sows good seed is the Son of Man, the field is the world, the good seed the children of the Kingdom. The weeds are the children of the Evil One, and the enemy who sows them is the Devil. The harvest is the end of the age, and the harvesters are angels Matthew 13:37-39

Do you love plants? I do. They are so vibrant, and some have beautiful smells. They embellish life and provide comfort and peace. Sometimes I am successful when planting or sowing them, others I try and try again. As the good seeds in the Gospel, they have a great mission. They offer balance, food, and lifesaving oxygen to this world. Weeds, on the other hand, bring destruction and division. Evil that is seemingly green at the beginning but deadly to all other plants, animals, and people that live in their surroundings.  As the sower of good seeds, we are entrusted with protecting our common home and the common good. To see the Lord's justice, love and compassion shared with all. But are we? Do we accompany others around the world? We must advocate for the suffering as we sow good seeds for the displaced or on the move, the one that is hungry, thirsty, and suffering as a result of evil and devastating shadow pandemics.  If we are called to be courageous, to be living expressions of the Gospel, we must sow good seeds, let them be rooted in love and allow them to grow! Not only to be like Jesus but to act, feel and love like him. I heard someone saying that it was great to learn about the call, but she looked for now for the response to "AND NOW WHAT?"

What seed are you sowing? And most importantly... what are you doing for it to grow?

Lord,  help us to sow good seeds. Amen
