Keep watch over yourselves and over the whole flock of which the Holy Spirit has appointed you overseers, in which you tend the church of God that he acquired with his own blood. Acts 20:28
Proclaiming Jesus Christ as your savior and developing a relationship with him means you are a Christian. But with that comes great responsibility. It means being a living example to others by upholding the commandments, unselfishly helping others, and having the courage to proclaim Jesus as Lord and invite others to encounter him. Paul addresses the early church leaders encouraging them to live the faith, but most importantly to care for those that are new to the faith, the flock. It's a great responsibility for our clergy today, and for those who work in ministry. We can become distracted by our own goals, ambitions, or selfish way of thinking. It is important we follow the promptings of the Holy Spirit to guide the flock.
