Do not be afraid; just have faith.
God shows us He is in control when we are put in situations that we can't control. I read that thought not to long ago and felt really uncomfortable. I don't even like thinking about not being in control. Control is my comfort zone! But it's true; when we have to rely on God, when we have to put our hands up and, in our best Carrie Underwood voice say, "Jesus, take the wheel," that's when we exercise and grow in our faith.
In today's gospel, Jairus, the synagogue official, begged Jesus to come heal his daughter. Jesus immediately set off for his home, but then stopped on the way to heal the hemorrhaging woman. If I was Jairus I would've been jumping out of my skin! It was out of his hands though. When they did finally arrive, it seemed all hope was lost, as his daughter had already died. But Jesus reminds him to not be afraid and to have faith. Jesus was in control.
