A psalm of David. The LORD says to my lord: "Sit at my right hand, while I make your enemies your footstool."

 

We often focus on the mercy and love of God. This, of course, warranted because He is merciful and loving. But sometimes we can overlook other qualities of the Lord. He is also a victorious king who has conquered death! God's might is unmatched. All the powers of hell were defeated through the sacrifice of the Cross. What does that truth mean for us? It means the most powerful force in the universe is on your side. Any evil we face in this life can be beaten, and indeed already has. Find rest in the power of the cross today knowing the ills of this life are fleeting but His victory offers us freedom.
