Luke 21: 34
"Beware that your hearts do not become drowsy
from carousing and drunkenness
and the anxieties of daily life,
What gift will you give to Jesus this year? Isn't that an interesting question? Is there a way we can change some part of our lives in order to be more open to the gifts of the Spirit. I have heard from a number of people how much everyone likes this time of year. The gift of simply giving words of kindness and empathy go along way to making everyone's hearts "grow".
I went to the store the other day, and a gal was loading in boxes and boxes of children's toys into the store, and there were so many boxes loaded on her cart, they didn't all fit through the double doors! I held some of the boxes for her as she maneuvered her cart to get through the entrance doors. I hope that means there will be some children excited to have the latest doll or truck or gadget. But I wonder if some of those children wouldn't also be happy with some special family time making cookies, or putting together a wooden toy, or planting a Christmas plant? In all of the planning and partying and socializing, let's not forget about the little ones, nor the needy and the ones who are ill, and let us help to make Christmas a merry season for all!
