But those sown on rich soil are the ones who hear the word and accept it and bear fruit thirty and sixty and a hundredfold.
The parable of the sower is one of the most vivid descriptions of the work of evangelization in the entire New Testament. Jesus explains that it's not only important to sow the seeds of the Word but that it needs "good soil" for it to take root in our hearts. The primary work of the evangelist is to plant these seeds of God's word but we can also have a say how conducive the soil is to growth. We do this by making sure that we are not creating any stumbling blocks for those around us who have received or have yet to receive the Word. Are we being a good example to others? Are being kind and loving to those around us? Think about your example today and how you might create a better environment for the Gospel to grow.
