I just looked up driving directions to a beautiful inn and ranch in California. Ha! If I drove I-40 West, it would take one day and 19 hours, and if I drove I-10 West it would be a little longer, as I noticed the distance geographically is about 150 miles more. I wondered if would I take the fastest route or the most scenic route?
What about our spiritual journey (to Heaven)? Do we consider the fastest route through this life, always going, going, going somewhere important, and let day go into night and night go into day, or do we try to take the scenic route and stop to regroup and spritually refresh throughout the day? I am going to try to slow down a bit and see if the scenic route will be more satisfying for me, rather than scheduling my time in such tight increments that I hardly have time to pray.
