Jesus is always able to save those who approach God through him, since he lives forever to make intercession for them.
Just last month we celebrated the birth of the Christ, Jesus our Savior and great advocate. God came to us in the flesh in the form of a baby. Babies draw people. If you see a baby in church or out with it's parents, you are almost always drawn to look. This is what we saw in the Christmas story with the shepherds and magi. God came to us because he wants to be near us and knows that we need him. But in our feeble, earthly and sinful minds, we don't always understand or even desire to be near God. So Jesus is that savior for all of us, God-Made-Flesh, that we can hopefully grasp in our hearts. To know Jesus is to know the Father.
I recall a time when I got into trouble and had to face my punishment. I knew I had done wrong and my dad knew it too. But my father was beside me during the punishment phase so to speak and in fact, assured those that I'd wronged that it wouldn't happen again. He was my advocate, my intercessor. Mary, the Mother of God is a great intercessor. This is why we pray the rosary. We pray to Jesus to the Father. Jesus is our savior, God-man on earth. By following Christ, we will be led to the Father and eternal life. Make Jesus your advocate today!
