Luke 1:28-29
And coming to her, he said,
"Hail, full of grace! The Lord is with you."
But she was greatly troubled at what was said
and pondered what sort of greeting this might be.
Mary wondered and pondered but did not complain or say "wait, but I have to.." , and for that she is a model for us on accepting God's love and His plan for us. If you have pondered and wondered what your role is in His plan, how about starting with the idea to accept that you are very much a part of His plan of salvation, and that you belong here right now, precisely because you are here! You did not choose to be here, God chose you.
With that thought, I hope that you can find it comforting that no matter how difficult life is, and it is difficult sometimes, there is a plan that is like underneath, or flowing through, our daily lives. It can be like a current of water that's below the ground, underneath say, a roadway. We cannot see it, but then when we cross a bridge, we do see the river that carries those same currents out to the seas, much like God's plan is sometimes simply not visible to us, but like the rivers, both above ground and underground, will carry us onward and through this life, hopefully out to Heaven in the next phase of our journey.
